STAR TREK®: THE EXHIBITION
ULTIMATE WEDDING PACKAGE
STAR TREK WEDDING GIVEAWAY!
Congratulations to Our Winners Kyle Sessions and
Nancy Kerr. Kyle Sessions believes his marriage to Nancy Kerr is a match made in heaven. Soon, the couple will renew their vows under the stars as winners of The Tech Museum's "Ultimate Star Trek Wedding" online contest.
The Berkeley-based pair will again say "I do" aboard the re-created set of the U.S.S. Enterprise bridge inside STAR TREK®: THE EXHIBITION at The Tech Museum. The pair bested 13 other contestants from around the country.
"This is really exciting!" Sessions said of the upcoming celestial ceremony. "This is the sort of thing that we've wanted to do for a while. We've seen all the movies and television series starting with The Next Generation, then Deep Space Nine and Voyager. We've recently been working our way through The Original Series."
To enter the contest, couples simply submitted a photo along with a few short paragraphs on why they should be picked to say "I do" or renew their vows on the bridge. Sessions and Kerr received the highest number of votes - 522 - of the 2,189 cast on the museum's Facebook page.
A sample of their winning story: "Well, we met when we both went to college. It was our first year at that school, and neither one of us knew anybody. We ended up living across the hall from each other in the dorms, and quickly found out we had a lot in common, including a love of Star Trek and all other things sci-fi!"
The lucky couple wins exclusive use of the bridge during the ceremony; a private museum room for a reception; two-night's stay at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, and a two-tier, Star Trek-themed wedding cake from Bijan Bakery & Café.
The pair are finalizing dates and times; but this much we do know - they will be in costume!
The blockbuster exhibition, which makes its only Bay Area appearance at The Tech Museum, brings together the original costumes, genuine props and authentic recreations of sets from all five Star Trek television series and 11 Star Trek feature films, including the new box-office hit. The exhibition, in town until April 11, is spread across 15,000-square-feet and features more than 200 artifacts.
