Celestial Ceremony

Press Release Date
Tuesday, 6 April, 2010
A Bay Area couple will report to the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise Saturday for an ancient human ritual that, in this universe, is marked by cosmic costumes and a curious mix of galactic characters. Berkeley's Kyle Sessions and Nancy Kerr, winners of The Tech Museum's "Ultimate Star Trek Wedding" contest, will renew their wedding vows aboard the re-created set of the U.S.S. Enterprise bridge inside STAR TREK®: THE EXHIBITION. More than a dozen couples from around the country entered the online contest for a chance to have a ceremony on the bridge, a private museum room for a reception, two-night's stay at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, and a two-tier, Star Trek-themed wedding cake from Bijan Bakery & Café. Sessions and Kerr bested 13 other contestants, garnering the highest number of votes - 522 - of the 2,189 cast on the museum's Facebook page.
