"There's such a wealth of activities in San Jose this holiday season, and we're really delighted to add to the energy in the air," said The Tech's President and CEO Peter Giles. "We couldn't be happier to complement visitors' experiences in the downtown area this season by keeping our museum galleries open later and offering the very clever film Santa Vs. The Snowman in our IMAX dome!" Santa Vs. The Snowman Santa Vs. The Snowman, IMAX's first ever animated holiday feature, brings the tale of a snowman who is swept away by the magical wonders of Santa's Village, but is jealous of all the attention St. Nick gets during the most wonderful time of the year. In an effort to take over Christmas for himself, the lonely snowman stages an attack on Santa and his elves using hilarious holiday innovations such as hot chocolate squirt guns. A magically visual ride, Santa Vs. The Snowman was created by Steve Oedekerk, the Academy Award nominated creator/producer of Jimmy Neutron, and features the voices of celebrated Emmy Award-winning comic Jonathan Winters, Ben Stein and Victoria Jackson. Filmgoers will be immersed in Northern California's only IMAX Dome Theater, featuring an eight-story, giant domed screen and six-channel, digital wrap-around sound with 12,000 watts of power from 44 speakers. The theater offers 295 special reclining seats that accentuate the feeling of being "in" the movie. Holiday Hours December 20 through January 4 2004, The Tech Museum of Innovation will offer extended holiday hours for its exhibit galleries, retail store and Hackworth IMAX Dome Theater.
