Science of Suds: Gordon Biersch on tap for After Hours

Press Release Date
Thursday, 26 April, 2012

Beer Bash gets under way May 2 at The Tech Museum

SAN JOSE, CA – A good time is brewing at The Tech Museum as Gordon Biersch Brewing Company hosts the museum’s nighttime social for the 21-and-above set.

After Hours is downtown San Jose’s premier monthly affair where adults enjoy science, technology and entertainment against an exclusive backdrop of music, games and hands-on exhibits.

Come May 2, the museum teams up with San Jose's only local brewery, Gordon Biersch, for our first-ever beer tasting event. Guests can also try their hands at creating a “foam explosion,” mixing a potent concoction of detergent, yeast and hydrogen peroxide to a foamy plume blast. Beer enthusiasts can try their beer chops in our Trivial Pursuit-styled game “Test Your Beer Knowledge.” Add to that, lots of other fun activities exploring the "science of suds."

Each month, the museum dims the lights for the nighttime event, which is meant to encourage hipsters - techie and not-so-techie - to check out the museum, meet new people and have fun. Explore the entire museum with other adults under moody lighting and music as you play a bevy of games, discover more about science and technology, or just relax and have fun with friends. The night will also feature live music – Daze on the Green – with dancing and a limited cafe menu.

When: Wednesday, May 2, 2012 - 6:00 - 11:00 p.m.

Where: The Tech Museum, 201 South Market Street, San Jose, CA

Admission: General: $10; Member: $8, Group of 10 or more: $8
