Press Release Date
Friday, 30 April, 2010
To kick off Space Week, come and meet scientists Ronald Sheffield and Justin Cassidy, who worked on the Hubble Telescope. Then, witness the intrepid crew of the Space Shuttle on one of the last Shuttle flights and their daring mission: the last chance to save the Hubble Telescope, in IMAX Hubble! And if the Hubble images on IMAX aren't enough, take a closer look at the From Earth To The Universe Photos taken by Hubble on display in the museum. During Space Week see two real Shuttle tires, try heat-testing a Shuttle tile, and enjoy other space activities too! WHO: Ronald Sheffield has 25 years experience on the Hubble as the Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Crew Systems Manager for Lockheed Martin. Justin Cassidy's specialty is crew aids and tools, which he will demo at the presentations. WHAT: IMAX Hubble and Space Week at The Tech Museum WHEN: The scientists will introduce the IMAX Hubble shows Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
