AT&T and The Tech Museum of Innovation announced today they are continuing their "Second Sundays Are Free" partnership, offering complimentary Museum Gallery Admission to the community on the Second Sunday of every month. The Tech Museum is able to offer this special benefit thanks to a generous grant from AT&T. The 2006 program extends to 3 years the partnership launched by SBC, which merged with AT&T late last year. "The Tech is already a family friendly place, but this makes it much more affordable for families who may not have the resources to visit," said AT&T External Affairs Area Manager Leon Beauchman. "That's why we're happy to extend this opportunity to families, as well as to the entire community." "This is an extremely popular community benefit," noted The Tech's Director of Museum Operations Bud Everts. "It allows us to further our mission of inspiring innovation and engaging people of all ages in technologies impacting their lives." In 2005, approximately 21,000 visitors took advantage of the "Second Sundays Are Free" program. The remaining Second Sundays in 2006 are: April 9, May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8, November 12 and December 10. Those taking advantage of the Second Sundays program will experience a wealth of interactive Exhibits, plus the new "View from Space," an amazing look at how hurricanes form and the impact of other weather-related phenomena on Earth. (Please note this program provides free admission to The Tech's Exhibit Galleries only, not the Hackworth IMAX Dome Theater.)
