The Tech Museum of Innovation is pleased to announce the appointment of Yolanda Canny to the position of Vice President, Marketing and Public Affairs.
An accomplished senior marketing executive, Canny joins The Tech with a wealth of experience in both profit and non-profit organizations. Her expertise is broad in scope including strategic development, organizational branding, advertising, market research, corporate and consumer relations and impact measurement standards.
Prior to joining The Tech, Canny was Marketing Director at Schwab Learning, a non-profit program area of the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation. There, she led the development of the first branding strategic process and provided key marketing initiatives for the organization. At LifeScan, a division of Johnson & Johnson, Canny served as Director, Consumer and Professional Marketing and Health Information Systems, and was responsible for U.S. sales totaling over $700 million covering new and existing products.
Over her 20 year career, Canny has been recognized for breakthrough sales and marketing events in the Chicago Tribune, Ad Week and Ad Age.
In her role as Vice President, Marketing and Public Afairs at The Tech, Canny will be responsible for overall strategic marketing, planning and implementation of marketing efforts for the three-year old museum facility. She will provide strategic leadership to development of The Tech's program and products and manage market research, promotional activities, external public relations, internal communications, community outreach and media activities.
A native of California, Canny currently resides in Menlo Park. She holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Southern California.
