CANSTRUCTION Comes to The Tech – July 16, 2004 – September 6, 2004
Local architecture firms will compete to design and build the most creative food can exhibits in The Tech's lobby. This is a community service project where all the cans used will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. Join the fun as we "CANSTRUCT a world without hunger." Don't miss "Engineer It!," a new traveling exhibit through September 6.

New IMAX film India: Kingdom of the Tiger Opens July 16
INDIA:KINGDOM OF THE TIGER will take you on a magic ride through this ancient and fast-growing country, examining history and environmental challenges. Starring critically acclaimed Indian actress Smriti Mishra and Christopher Heyerdahi. A historical epic depicting India from 1910 to the modern era, this film is also a story as seen through the eyes of one of India|!s most mysterious and compelling animals - the tiger.

"Conversations with Innovative Women in Technology" series kicks off July 12, 2004
The Tech Museum of Innovation and key partner have teamed up to present the "Conversations with Innovative Women in Technology" series. Join us to explore how women in the field impact the present and future of technological innovation, to build a community around a broad spectrum of technology interests, and to offer a networking opportunity with female role models who will support young girls interested in math and science. The July 12 topic is "Let|!s encourage girls to explore ‘all things technical.'"

"Nikkon International Small World" Exhibit at The Tech – June 14, 2004 to July 23, 2004
Get a glimpse into a world that most have never seen, except through the lens of a microscope, when viewing the award-winning photomicrographs in the "Nikkon International Small World" exhibition. This free exhibition will be located in The Tech's New Venture Hall.


Genetics: Technology With A Twist – Now Open
Explore the forefront of emerging genetic technologies by taking on the roles of genetic counselor, scientist and even a policymaker. Understand the new opportunities genetic research has provided, and face personal and social choices that arise from the intimate knowledge of what we are made of. With new Tech Tags, visitors can even grow bacteria in our wet lab, post findings to their very own website, and track their experiment's progress online days later.


Summer Camps at The Tech from June 21 – August 13, 2004
Learn about the Science of Sports or be a Crime Solver Scientist this summer at The Tech. Summer fun at The Tech is provided through a unique partnership with Galileo Educational Services. The Tech Museum Summer Camps allows kids to experience The Tech in a whole new way. Bringing together high-quality lab facilities, engaging curriculum, and personalized instruction, summer camps at The Tech create a fun and inspiring way for kids to deepen their interest in science and technology.

Third Annual Maxgames Video Game Tournament, July 23, 2004
Maxgames is the ultimate console video game tournament. Finalists on each platform battle it out in The Tech's Giant Dome Theater. The cost to compete is $25 per person per game. Tech Museum members get a $10 discount and play for $15 per game. Competitors can register online via the Maxgames website at All entry fees go toward The Tech's Annual Fund for Education.

Ongoing: Segway Human Transporter
You've seen it in the news, now try it out yourself! Take a ride on the Segway Human Transporter, daily from 2-3 p.m. *Riders must be over 16 years old and weigh between 100 and 250 pounds*

Second Sundays are Free, Thanks to SBC
SBC and The Tech are offering free unlimited gallery admission to the community the second Sunday of every month throughout 2004! This is a great opportunity to explore the technologies impacting your life. Experience new exhibits like Genetics: Technology with a Twist, Engineer It!, and so much more!
