Invention @ Play is a hands-on exhibit designed to inspire creativity through tapping visitors' playful imagination. Tinker in the Invention Playhouse and peruse artifacts and real stories to see how play fosters creativity in real inventors. This temporary exhibit will be at The Tech through September 5. IDEA House Opens June 17 IDEA House is a 2,500 square foot space filled with exciting activities to spark your ingenuity all summer long! Create unique devices in this house setting to make everyday tasks more fun and creative. Take home an IDEA Kit to continue the fun at your home. IDEA House will be at The Tech through September 5. Coming soon: Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Opens July 15 Acclaimed Director Tim Burton brings his imaginative style and unique vision to this Roald Dahl classic. Travel with Charlie through the previously off-limits factory of eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka. Starring Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. See this Hollywood blockbuster as only IMAX can offer! FRESH @ THE TECH Paintings and Sculpture by Artist Karl Momen Works by internationally renowned Bay Area Artist Karl Momen are now on free display in The Tech's New Venture Hall. This multi-medium show features painting, sculpture, and a special triptych of paint on silk-screened aluminum that symbolizes the highly structured world of modern technology. Long fascinated by the tension between man and machine, Momen uses geometric shapes to depict a universe of balanced forces. Conversations with the Future Speaker Series: Baroness Susan Greenfield Monday, June 27 from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The Tech's Conversations with the Future Series kicks off with a discussion lead by Baroness Susan Greenfield, the first female Head of the Royal Institute and world-renowned Oxford Professor. Her discussion will be about: "Tomorrow's People: How future technology is changing the way we think and feel." A cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m., with the presentation running from 7 -8:30 p.m. General admission is $35, Tech member admission is $25, and student admission is $10. EXHIBITS Please note that "Amazing Music Studio" and "Scream Machines" are now closed "NetPl@net" - A New Tech Gallery Now Open This new hands-on, permanent gallery will inspire visitors to use the Internet in unique new ways, and to dream up the next internet innovation!
