BODY WORLDS 2 & The Three Pound Gem — Gunther von Hagens' Anatomical Exhibition of Real Human Bodies--provides visitors
of all ages with the opportunity to learn about anatomy, physiology, health, and neuroscience by viewing the design and
complexity of the human body. We are proud to present this remarkable exhibition offering the unique opportunity to see
and understand the mysteries under our skin.
More than 20 million people have seen BODY WORLDS exhibitions around the world. This exhibition enables young people to
understand how the body works when it's healthy and what happens when it breaks down. Students see how lifestyles may
affect the body. They see the brain's potential, abilities, and vulnerabilities.
The whole body specimens are without skin so you can see the bones, muscles, tendons, nerves, blood vessels and organs.
Eyes and genitals of the bodies remain. A separate section of the exhibition highlights prenatal development and includes
embryos and fetuses. This area is curtained off from the main exhibit floor, so viewing is strictly optional.
BODY WORLDS is aligned with The Tech's mission to "inspire the innovator in everyone", and complements and builds on
permanent Galleries and exhibits in the museum focused on
medical technologies, biotech, genetics and the human body. Please be sure to allow for time in the museum with your
family or students, enjoying interactive exhibits that will enhance the whole BODY WORLDS visit and experience!
