Programs
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Do you have what it takes to be a Tech Detective? Juniors begin by sharpening their observation skills through brain-challenging puzzles. Next, they learn how to obtain and analyze fingerprints from a crime scene. Finally, Juniors learn about DNA — what it is, what it does, and how it helps solve crimes. They then get to perform an experiment to extract real DNA.

Mysteries of the Unseen World  10:15 am - 11:00 am
10:15 am - 11:00 am
Journey into the microscopic world once reserved only for scientists to see a whole new universe. Thanks to the film's innovative use of high-speed and time-lapse photography, electron microscopy, and nanotechnology, audiences will see things not visible to the naked eye. Visually stunning and rooted in cutting-edge research, the setting and story are pure entertainment, but the science is breathtakingly real.

Building Excitement!
Join us at our new Hands-On Science Workshop: Building Excitement! Use your engineering design skills to create structures for our earthquake simulation city. Watch how it reacts during a simulated earthquake, then redesign it to be even more earthquake-ready! Join us for the following two workshop sessions throughout the day.

Infrastructure: There are lots of structures around you, aside from office buildings and houses, that keep our cities running. Use your engineering design skills to create earthquake-ready infrastructure, like bridges, airports, and towers!

The Hands-On Science Workshop offers lively, hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs that connect to something fascinating that's going on in the world of science and technology. Workshop content changes a couple times a year, with a short time-out between workshops. The exhibit area is open during regular museum hours for visitors to relax in our resource library, or create in the Imagination Playground. Guided programs, with our team of tinkerers, are scheduled daily.
