Body Worlds 2 & The Three Pound Gem

The Tech Museum of Innovation and presenting sponsor The Health Trust, are proud to welcome the first Northern California showing of BODY WORLDS 2 & The Three Pound Gem, Gunther von Hagens' Anatomical Exhibition of Real Human Bodies.  This unique and educational exhibit about human anatomy, physiology and health gives guests an unprecedented view inside the human body, and has been enjoyed worldwide by more than 22 million people.  The exhibition will open on September 27, 2007, and will run through January 26, 2008.  Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online from The Tech's web site or at The Tech's ticket office.Members of The Tech enjoy significant discounts on tickets!

For the first time in the history of the exhibition, BODY WORLDS will present The Three Pound Gem, a special feature on the brain inspired by findings in neuroscience on brain development and function, brain disease and disorders, and brain performance and improvement.

Stay tuned for information on some of the great health-related programming that will take place at The Tech during BODY WORLDS!  Once you get a glimpse inside the amazing, complex and beautiful human body, you'll want to know more about how to take care of this incredible innovation.

Harry Potter Returns!

Today is the day! Harry Potter returns to The Tech's IMAX dome screen with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Our 8-stories high screen, accompanied by the sound of 44 speakers will make you feel like you're right there at Hogwarts too!

For those of you who haven't read the book, here's a glimpse of the story. Trouble brews as Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts begins. The authorities are ignoring Harry and Dumbledore's warnings of Voldemort's return, causing his fellow classmates to view him with disdain. Meanwhile, a new witch assumes control at Hogwarts, throwing the entire school into chaos. Will Harry lose everything? TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW on The Tech's web site don't miss this magical experience.

 


Wizards Hit the Stage @ The Tech

Ever wanted to perform a feat of magic? Create a flash of fire, open a secret door, or even disappear? Beginning on Friday, July 13th, wizards and wannabees alike will be making the seemingly impossible happen! See Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in IMAX, then complete the experience by visiting our live show, Wizardry 101, and find out how, with innovation and technology, one can make magic! 

Wizardry 101 will appear daily on the atrium stage at 11:00 a.m., 12:30 and 2:00 p.m., with an extra show on weekends at 3:30 p.m.

Then, on September 27th, prepare yourself for the BODY WORLDS 2 & The Three Pound Gem experience by visiting our Microscopic Mission show, also appearing daily on The Tech's atrium stage. Watch as our intrepid crew takes a journey through the human body, and explores the latest in high-tech surgery.


Volunteer Opportunities

The Tech needs you! We are seeking volunteers from around the Bay Area to help during the upcoming limited-engagement exhibit BODY WORLDS 2 & The Three Pound Gem. We need up to 500 volunteers to help ensure that the large numbers of people expected to attend the exhibition have the optimal experience. 

Volunteer schedules are flexible, and we encourage high school students and adults of all ages to apply for this unique volunteer opportunity. 

Benefits of volunteering at The Tech include free entry to BODY WORLDS; free IMAX movie sneak previews; discounts in the store and cafeteria; the ability to bring two guests to the Museum for free; and free downtown San Jose parking when working at The Tech.
