There is no way to repair the Primary Mirror. The mirror is just like the lenses in our eyes. If we have errors in our lenses, we have a vision problem. But we can correct our vision by wearing glasses, or contact lenses that correct for the errors in our
natural lenses.
Corrective lenses -- that's what glasses are called -- work for the Hubble Space Telescope too. In 1993, NASA astronauts installed a special instrument inside the Hubble that has tiny mirrors that correct the distorted light from the primary mirror. With these corrective mirrors, perfectly focused light reaches the scientific instruments.
