Why do we have a Space Telescope Anyway?

With a telescope above the Earth's atmosphere, astronomers can look at objects in the visible part of the spectrum. They can also look at other parts of the spectrum that are normally blocked by the Earth's atmosphere.

The Hubble Space Telescope has cameras and other instruments that can see wavelengths in ultraviolet, visible and infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum. That opens up new possibilities for studying the structure and behavior of planets, stars or g alaxies.
