Monique Talitenu, 16, is a junior at Yerba Buena High School and sports editor of its newspaper, the Aztec Chronicle. She has been leader of the Spirit Club and is president of its Polynesian club, Island Roots. She also participates in peer counseling, plays volleyball and in her freshman year participated in shot put, discus and track. She hopes to attend a University of California school to study journalism.
