The standard model is equipped with sensors to detect movement, and an infrared camera to detect body heat. The sentry robot's controller is programmed to examine every part of the factory, to see if anything is out of place or is missing. It also has a videocamera so that real people can see through the eyes of the robot remotely.

For an additional price, the robot can be equipped with a 6 degrees of freedom jointed-arm. This arm could be equipped with a number of end-effectors; each of them very different.
