Magnetic Resonance Imaging, also called MRI, is a technique used by doctors to see inside your body.

The MRI creates a 3-D representation of your body by exposing you to strong magnetic fields. The hydrogen atoms in your body react to the field in a certain way, and can be picked up by the computer. (The process is called Nuclear Magnetic Resonance if you must know.)

From that information, doctors create a 3-D model that is much easier to study than just looking at you. They can actually see inside to find problems without really getting in there!
