Knowing the density of a material can help you find the mass or the volume. The density of the elements can usually be found in a textbook or on the Web.

Once you know the density and either the mass or the volume, all you have to do is rearrange the equation Density = Mass / Volume to find the third number.

All three equations are equivalent!
