The Tech Museum’s learning programs and galleries support California Content Standards and are inspired by the innovative science and technology of Silicon Valley, and designed to captivate your students through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) learning. As students engage in hands-on learning throughout their time at the museum, they reinforce concepts they’re learning in school and develop 21st century skills and habits of mind of innovators.

Scholarships for Free Field Trips

Scholarships for free field trip admission applies to museum galleries, gallery programs, and Hands-On Science Workshops only. Educational IMAX films, The Tech Science Labs, and special exhibitions are an additional fee. Title I Schools are eligible for fee-waived IMAX and Science Labs while funding lasts. more+

The Tech Science Labs

Give your students a deeper learning experience as they explore different science topics in our hands-on labs. Our Lab Instructors provide 90 minutes of engaging science with Design Challenge Learning, captivating your students through an open-ended design process. Students work together to find creative solutions to real-world science and engineering challenges. more+

Educational IMAX Films

Through IMAX technology, your students can journey to distant lands, outer space, the depths of the ocean, or even through time without leaving their seats. Add an educational IMAX film and a visit to our Hackworth IMAX Dome Theater to your field trip for only $5/person. Fees are waved for Title 1 schools. more+

After-School Programs

Enhance students' after-school experience by allowing them to explore science and technology topics in an interactive, hands-on setting. Students can explore over 100 hands-on exhibits, engage in our gallery programs and Hands-on Science Workshops, wonder at our educational IMAX films, and/or get an in-depth, instructor-led lab experience. more+

Build on your students’ science and technology enthusiasm and learning through The Tech Museum’s out-of-school time programs: The Tech Summer Camps for grades 4–8, programs for Girl Scouts grades 3–6, Family Math and Engineering for students grades K-5 and their families, and The Tech Challenge, our signature Design Challenge Learning program for grades 5–12. more+
