Tech Fellows
The Tech Teacher Fellows Program is a two-year opportunity for innovative Bay Area teacher leaders (grades 4-8) to partner with The Tech Museum of Innovation. This program helps them increase their knowledge and leadership skills, extend their sphere of influence, and play a key role in developing new programs both for their district and The Tech. Through a series of meetings, workshops, and independent work, plus the support of their district leaders and The Tech, Tech Fellows will:
- Gain experience and expertise with Design Challenge pedagogy
- Develop leadership skills
- Create exciting Design Challenge curricula for their districts and The Tech
- Influence and inspire other teachers in their districts
- Increase the connections between informal and formal learning
Tech Fellows are selected based on nominations from their district and school administrators and are part of our District Partnership Program. Current districts participating in this program include: Redwood City, Franklin-McKinley, Campbell Union, and San Jose Unified School Districts. Nominees for the Tech Fellowship must submit an application, which is reviewed by Tech and district staff. For their time and work, each Tech Fellow receives a personal stipend as well as a stipend for professional development materials, workshops, Design Challenge tools, curriculum development, and substitutes so they can visit each other's classrooms.
