Pam Scott
McKinley Institute of Technology (MIT)
Pam has been a 6th grade Literature, Language Arts, and History teacher for 12 years, eight of them in Redwood City. Currently, she is the Literacy Coordinator and Webmaster for MIT. She loves being a Tech Fellow because it allows her a glimpse into curricular areas that she does not teach (they are integrating Design Challenge throughout core 6th grade classes). Design Challenge has also brought about a stronger professional connection between the sixth grade teachers. This year MIT is implementing an entire class dedicated to Design Challenge, as well as incorporating Design Challenge into MIT's site plan. Most importantly, Pam reports that the students love it! They are also excited to participate in the Tech Challenge.
"Design Challenge provides teachers with such strong teaching strategies along with integration into other content areas! It has been a true joy to be involved with the program!"
