After making an appearance at Open Make: Flow, we’re very excited to welcome NEXMAP back to The Tech. If you got to see the 21st century hacked notebook project they shared that day, this is your chance to work with them to make your own! This summer, NEXMAP and CV2 are partnering with Educator Innovator to offer a nation-wide Hack Your Notebook Day and they’re bringing their workshop to The Tech.

21st Century Notebooking with Inside/Out from NEXMAP on Vimeo.

Explore the rich connections between art, paper electronics and notebooking by hacking your own sketchbook, notebook or journal with power and LEDs. Working in pairs, learn about simple circuits, parallel circuits, and switches with copper tape and Circuit Stickers from Chibitronics. Design your own power leads and create beautiful circuitry that goes along with you wherever you go. Join us to illuminate your thinking--literally!

Chibitronic’s Circuit Stickers were just recently released after a very successful crowdfunding campaign, so we’re very excited to showcase them at The Tech.

Participants and guardians should bring their own notebooks to hack during the workshop. All other supplies will be provided and are included in the cost of the workshop. So you can take your notebooks home and start using them to capture all your creative ideas and plans for whatever you might want to hack next…

This program is part of Summer to Make, Play and Connect, a MacArthur Foundation-sponsored initiative powered by the National Writing Project and the Mozilla Foundation.
