Young Makers

Excited about tinkering, building, and making? Join Young Makers!

Maker Education Initiative's Young Makers program brings together a community of young people, ages 8-18, of varying backgrounds, interests, and skill levels, with mentors and a space to make. In small clubs, participants work together throughout the season to design and make a youth-chosen, open-ended project, culminating in an opportunity to share and exhibit at a showcase event.

In the Bay Area, Young Makers and mentors work towards exhibiting at the signature event, Maker Faire Bay Area, Saturday & Sunday, May 17 & 18. We are always looking for new members and mentors: join us and get inspired to make something of your own! Learn more and get involved.

This year's Open Make @ The Tech will be a gathering of Makers all working with electrical flow. They'll also focus on the creative flow that is part of the making process. As they'll showcase, some of the best sparks for innovations come when you are playing so deeply in your passions that you lose track of space and time.

The sharing of that passion-driven innovation is what Maker Faire is all about!

Open Make @ The Tech is open to the general public and free with museum admission. Participation is first-come, first-served unless otherwise noted. Registered Young Makers get into the museum for free for Open Make days +1 adult mentor. Additional family members get into the museum at the group rates.
