DEMO Conference and The Tech Museum Announce Strategic Partnership

Press Release Date
Thursday, September 15, 2005

The Tech Museum of Innovation and Network World Events and Executive Forums, producer of the semi-annual DEMO conferences, today announce that select new innovations unveiled at DEMO conferences will be available for the public to experience and explore at The Tech Museum in downtown San Jose. Starting at DEMOfall 2005, scheduled for September 19-21 at the Hyatt Huntington Beach in California, The Tech will hand out "Innys", its picks for particularly inspired and innovative products that museum-goers will be able to explore first hand. These consumer, enterprise, and enabling products will then be displayed on The Tech's EnCounters, special areas of the museum that offers hands-on, facilitated experiences with the newest technologies that can have a significant impact on all our lives. "Partnering with DEMO to hand out our Innys is an exciting evolution for the EnCounter experience at The Tech," said Meredith Taylor, Tech Museum President. "By showcasing these next generation technologies that haven't even come to market yet, we can further deliver on our mission to inspire the innovator in everyone. Our visitors are thirsty to get their hands on any technologies that have a universal relevance to all our lives, and I hope having access to the products launched at DEMO will compel them to someday dream up the latest and greatest themselves." "A relationship between DEMO and The Tech is a logical one," said Chris Shipley, DEMO award-winning Executive Producer. "DEMO is legendary for identifying the new technology trends and applications that will have the most significant impact on the ways in which we live and work, and The Tech has a deep history of showcasing technologies that affect who we are and how we live. Ideally, Tech visitors will even help shape the direction of these products before they're available in industry and on store shelves." At each DEMO conference, The Tech will award Innys – which stands for INnovation, IN the know, and IN the museum – to a select group of DEMO exhibitors. Inny winners will then be invited to display their hands-on products at The Tech Museum. Museum-goers will be able to see, touch, and understand for themselves why these products were selected as part of DEMO's elite class of demonstrators and The Tech's special "DEMO@TheTech" EnCounter area.
