The Next Generation of Cyber Hackers Comes to The Tech

Hack the Future, National Day of Civic Hacking take over The Tech Museum of Innovation
Press Release Date
Thursday, May 29, 2014
SAN JOSE, CA –  The Tech Museum of Innovation on Saturday will host a Hack the Future event, helping innovators cultivate their interest in computer science and technology in an open, collaborative environment. From making their own digital games to using 3D printers, participants will gain valuable experience in creating software and operating the latest technology. Hands-on interactive stations in The Tech Studio will encourage guests in grades 5 through 12 to work through problems on their own, gain valuable insights from mentors, and envision the real-world application of these skills.

Don’t worry, your personal computer and credit card numbers are safe. This is a different kind of hacking, focused on crafting code to create, collaborate and innovate. Programming has become a new literacy, and who better to learn from than veteran hackers and young engineers at Silicon Valley startups?

Hack the Future at The Tech coincides with this year’s National Day of Civic Hacking, which brings together citizens, software developers, and entrepreneurs to find solutions using public data, code, and technology. The goal is to improve communities and the governments that serve them.
