Sometimes it's stinky, sometimes it's smelly, sometimes it's crusty …and sometimes it's just downright fun! This fall, a new exhibit, Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body, splats, oozes and bursts into life at The Tech. In Grossology, kids will discover the answers to many of the slimy, oozy, stinky questions they absolutely love to ask about the human body. With over 20 interactive displays and games, sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits, explore the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and much more. This showcase highlights and promotes innovative breakthroughs from around the world solving human challenges and improving the quality of life. Each year, Awards are presented in five universal categories: Health, Education, Environment, Economic Development, and Equality. Five finalists in each category are honored as Tech Award Laureates, and one Laureate per category receives $50,000 at the annual Awards Gala. Join us at The Tech for a hair-raising, "Grossology" good time. Trick-or-treaters will experience such spooky attractions as a "tactile tunnel" in the Exploration Gallery. There will also be witches, ghouls, skulls with glowing eyes, and more. The Grossology Halloween Event will be held on the lower level of The Tech from 2p.m. – 5p.m. Cost is $5.00 at the door. Look out! Listen Up! Wake up and smell the coffee! Touch base with all your senses at The Tech during the holiday season. Combine a visit to the upcoming exhibit, "Grossology", with fun and interactive activities throughout the museum about how your body works and how it interacts with your world. Visitors of all ages will have a great time designing boats, buildings, bridges, windmills, and airplanes, and testing their performance in water tanks, earthquake simulators, and wind tunnels. Engineer It! is a highly interactive traveling exhibition that presents science as an open-ended discovery process; there are no write or wrong answers. Every station offers a fun and challenging activity where visitors are encouraged to "think it, build it, and test it." New IMAX Film Opening November 21: Santa Vs. The Snowman
Originally created for a television special, this hilarious, epic-scale polar war was reformatted for the IMAX Screen. Steve Oedekerk's holiday cartoon features the voices of celebrated Emmy Award-winning comic Jonathan Winters, Ben Stein and Victoria Jackson.
