How Saturation Affects an Image

Saturation So far we've asked for a saturation and saw a rectangle of that saturation. Now let's think about what would happen if we added or subtracted some amount from the saturation of an image.

On the right is our original image. Below we see the image again after changing the saturation.

Notice how as the saturation decreases the amount of color in the images fades away until eventually it becomes a black & white image. This corresponds to saturation = 0.

-100 (0)

As the saturation increases the colors become more vivid until they no longer look real.

Now you try changing an image's saturation.
