Engineers Week 2015

Saturday, Feb.14 - Sunday, Feb. 22*
All programs are free with admission. Drop in anytime!

Join us at The Tech for Engineers Week! This national event brings engineering to life for people of all ages, and celebrates engineers and the difference they make in our world. Come build a Rube Goldberg device, engineer an earthquake-safe structure, develop a rescue vehicle for humpback whales, and create structures of wonder!

Light Up My Heart!

Lower Level in The Tech Studio
Noon-5 p.m.
Love is complicated, like a Rube Goldberg machine! Engineer your way into our hearts with simple machines and chain reactions in this fun design challenge.

Engineering for Earthquakes

Lower Level in The Tech Studio
10:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
What does it take to create a building to survive an earthquake? You! Design, build, and test structures to withstand a hand-powered earthquake.

Beams & Bands

Lower Level atrium
11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Exercise your engineering skills and discover what you can build using wooden dowels and rubber bands. From atomic structures to skyscrapers, the possibilities are endless!

Humpback Heroes

Lower Level in The Tech Studio
1 p.m.-5 p.m.
The humpback whales face many threats along their migration! Help by engineering an air-powered rescue vehicle to bring the whales out of harm's way.
