High School Students age fifteen through eighteen (15 - 18) are very helpful members of The Tech's volunteer program. They are able to earn service hours which can be applied to school service requirements while they provide a valuable service to the Silicon Valley community. To be considered high school volunteer candidates must have a comfortable command of the English language and be able to follow the dress code. Knowledge of science and technology isn't required but a strong desire to inspire the innovator in everyone is necessary!
All applications are kept in our system for six months. Due to overwhelming interest in the program not all applicants will receive a chance to volunteer. We will do our best to offer you a volunteer position.
Currently all of our high school volunteer positions have been filled. Please check back here for any updates.
School-Year Exhibit Interpreters - These volunteers help us engage and interact with our guests on the museum floor. They work at least two 4.5 hour shifts per month, which is about nine hours per month, for at least one year.
What type of high school volunteer positions do we have and how long is the High School volunteer commitment?
Yes, volunteers are required to attend a 90 minute orientation session and a three (3) hour museum exhibits training (for those volunteering in the museum galleries). We offer these training sessions either on the 2nd or 4th Saturday of each month.
