Cross-institutional collaboration to funnel computers, teacher training and high-tech, hands-on education programs to East San Jose elementary school
SAN JOSE - Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School’s nearly 700 pupils will be the beneficiaries of an intensive high-tech focused program to introduce and, ultimately, inspire youth to enjoy science and be part of a new workforce of problem-solvers, innovators, and inventors in Silicon Valley and around the world.
On May 23rd the school will be officially renamed to signal the new area of study and the leaders of the innovative plan – Franklin-McKinley School District, Hitachi Data Systems, Wyse Technology, CORAL After-School Program of Catholic Charities of Santa Clara, and The Tech Museum – will share their expectations and efforts to increase academic performance, raising the likelihood of success for these underserved, at-risk youths.
