What does the City of San Jose’s new vaccination policy say?
The City’s policy, which went into effect Sept. 20, 2021, requires guests and staff at indoor events of 50 or more people in city-owned buildings to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination. The policy does not apply to places such as museums or the airport “that are open to public circulation as part of their regular operations, except to the extent that such venues host qualifying events.”
In other words, if you’re here for a regular visit, you do not need to show proof of vaccination.
Do we need to wear masks when visiting?
Yes, all guests over the age of 2 need to wear masks in all areas of The Interactive.
The City’s policy says that IMAX movies with 50 or more people are considered an event. Will we have to show proof of vaccination if we see a film in your theater?
To be extra cautious, we have decided to limit attendance at the vast majority of IMAX showings to 49 people. That means that you will not need to show proof of vaccination to be admitted to an IMAX showing, as strict social distancing and masking will be enforced. We may decide to allow more than 49 people in the theater for specific showings. If we do, we will communicate that to our visitors well in advance so that they know to bring their proof of vaccination with them.
