What is a STEMbassador?

STEMbassadors are volunteer professionals, students, and subject experts who are interested in engaging with middle and high schoolers about real-world STEM experiences.

How does it work?

Volunteers are given access to the list of school requests for speakers. Once you’ve selected the speaking engagement that best fits your schedule and interests, you will be introduced to the requesting teacher via email and with the help of The Tech staff begin coordinating the session from there!

What to expect?

A 30-60 min VIRTUAL session, tailored to the class’s level and interests. There are two types of requests a teacher can make.

1. Meet a STEMbassador. A 10–20 minute introduction, and Q&A to tell your story, share your journey, and enlighten the path to a STEM career for a young mind.
2. STEM Project Talk. A 20-minute age-appropriate presentation around a project related to your work or field of study.

 Most sessions will end in a brief Q&A.
