A huge, heartfelt thank you to the laureates and other honorees, sponsors and judges, performers and guests, and all others who helped make the 15th annual Tech Awards Gala a smashing success.
The Tech Awards, presented by Applied Materials, is a premiere event and program that celebrates those who are using technology to solve the world’s most pressing problems. This year’s honorees included:
- Ten laureates from around the world who are doing a wide range of work, from helping prevent the spread of AIDS in Africa to stopping animal poachers in China to repairing birth defects.
- Philanthropists John and Tashia Morgridge, who were recognized with the James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award.
- Embrace, a 2012 laureate that was awarded the Laureate Impact Award, sponsored by PayPal, for its low-cost infant warmer used by more than 150,000 premature babies worldwide.

We will be celebrating the 15-year history of The Tech Awards on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
Every year more than 1,200 esteemed innovators and members of the world community gather to celebrate the power of technology to address global challenges and benefit humanity. Presented by Applied Materials, the black-tie gala is a signature program of The Tech Museum of Innovation.
