The National AI Literacy Day Summit
AI In Education: Unlocking Possibilities, Avoiding Pitfalls
Artificial intelligence is reshaping education, raising important questions about opportunity, responsibility, and the future of learning.
Join us on Friday, March 27 at The Tech Interactive in San Jose for the National AI Literacy Day Summit, one of the flagship events marking this nationwide day of action. Leaders from education, technology, research and policy will come together to explore the theme AI in Education: Unlocking Possibilities, Avoiding Pitfalls.
Through panels, conversations and breakout sessions, participants will examine what AI could make possible for learners and how we can guide its use thoughtfully.
This year the summit is open to the public. Tickets are on sale now.

Professional Development for Educators
Calling all educators. Join us on Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a hands-on professional development workshop designed to help you bring AI literacy into your classroom with confidence.
As part of National AI Literacy Day, this educator-only experience explores NGSS-aligned lessons for students of all ages, from how AI models solve real-world problems to approachable introductions to computer vision. You’ll engage in both unplugged and tech-enabled activities, examine the opportunities and challenges of AI in education, and get a behind-the-scenes look at AI experiences inside the museum.
Plus, you’ll leave with ready-to-use resources from The Tech’s National AI Literacy Day toolkit, built to support meaningful, engaging learning back in your classroom.

Lost Pets: AI to the Rescue
In this guessing game you will need to give and get clues about different animals to try to pick out the right one. The catch? You will need to think like an AI drone to pick out the right animal!

Learn tips and tricks to determine when an image is real and when it is generated by AI. Then put your critical thinking skills to the test to see if you can spy the AI!

Does AI know what pizza is?
How does an AI understand a question you ask and how is it different from asking a human? Check out this sorting activity to think about the difference and compare human critical thinking to an AI.

Transformirror Trickery
Can you trick an AI into seeing something that's not really there? Use props at our Transformirror wall to try to change what the AI thinks is around you.

ARTificial Intelligence Read Aloud
Join us for a read aloud of ARTificial Intelligence, a book about how an AI robot discovers the world of art. These read-alouds will feature a special guest Gizmo, our robot dog!

AI-Powered Exhibits at The Tech
Grounded in our vision for AI literacy, these exhibits are human-centered by design, inviting visitors to explore AI through hands-on experiences that encourage critical thinking and purposeful creation.

Dream Garden
Upper Level
Dream Garden uses AI to interpret visitors’ movements and gestures in real time. AI systems analyze how people interact with the space and instantly generate changing digital environments, showing how AI can turn human input into dynamic visual experiences.

AI Sandbox
Upper Level
AI Sandbox is a gallery of AI exhibits that quickly evolve to keep up with the rapid pace of AI. The exhibits can explore many aspects of AI, from how it enhances human creativity to how it learns from data and recognizes patterns. Visitors are also asked to reflect and share their thoughts about AI and its role in society.

Animaker
Lower Level
Animaker (found in the Pixel Playground), uses computer vision AI to analyze animals that visitors build from colorful blocks. The system compares shapes and features to patterns it has learned to guess the animal, illustrating how AI recognizes objects, learns from examples, recognizes patterns, and even develops biases.
