Our Educator Workshops are half day, hands-on professional learning sessions designed to give educators practical STEM strategies they can take directly back to their learners. Each workshop offers tools, activities, and approaches grounded in real-world STEM practices that engage students in engineering and computational thinking.

These collaborative workshops include time to connect with other educators and participants walk away with try-it-tomorrow resources. Attend one session or build connections across sessions!

Exploring Engineering Education through Design Challenge Learning

Workshop 1 - Feb 6, 2027

Try on Design Challenge Learning (DCL)! This half-day workshop dives into hands-on engineering lessons that connect NGSS and Common Core aligned STEM concepts to real-world problems. Educators will also explore key engineering concepts, such as user-centered design and systems thinking to help them create their own innovative design challenges for their classrooms or after school programs. Registration includes:

  • 4 hour workshop focused on Design Challenge Learning and User-Centered Design
  • Access to our lesson library and specific DCL lessons
  • Behind-the-scenes access to the museum
  • Light breakfast

Computational Thinking and AI Literacy: Foundations for the Classroom

Workshop 2 - Apr 17, 2027

Do you want to prepare your students for the future of computer science and AI but don’t know where to start? Join us for a half-day workshop centered around the foundations of teaching Computational Thinking (CT) and AI Literacy. Explore unplugged and plugged lessons that can be used across grade-levels to engage students in key concepts related to computer science and understanding how AI works. Participants will also gain behind the scenes access to our new AI exhibits in the interactive. Registration includes:

  • 4 hour workshop focused on Computational Thinking and AI Literacy instruction
  • Access to our lesson library, including specific CT and AI literacy lessons
  • Guidance from tech industry professionals 
  • Behind-the-scenes access to the museum
  • Light breakfast
