The Tech’s 3rd Annual National AI Literacy Day Summit:
AI In Education: Unlocking Possibilities, Avoiding Pitfalls

Join us at this year’s Summit to explore the future of AI-enhanced learning with education leaders across technology, K-12, nonprofits, government, and philanthropy.

While AI has the opportunity to address longstanding inequities and pedagogical challenges it also has the potential to amplify existing problems and create new problems. We invite you to join us as we dig into questions of what becomes possible with AI, what we risk, who benefits, and who could get left behind. The morning will provide opportunities for dialogue with national experts through panel discussions, fireside chat, and breakout sessions.

Given the possibilities and pitfalls, what will it take to develop the critical capacity necessary for nuanced decision making about when and how to use AI in education?

  • AI Literacy for Families and Communities

    Breakout Session

    This session explores how to build family and community capacity to critically evaluate AI in education—with focus on surveillance concerns, data privacy, and empowering families to shape rather than passively accept AI decisions affecting their children.

  • Student-Led AI Literacy: Lessons from a High School Tech Internship Program

    Breakout Session

    Want to see what AI Ethics looks like when students lead the way? Join local students from Mountain View and play a card game designed to encourage robust discourse on the ethical use of AI among educators and school leaders.

  • Tour of The Tech Interactive

    Breakout Session

    Tour The Tech Interactive’s hands-on AI exhibits — from unplugged computational thinking activities to the immersive AI-powered Dream Garden and AI Sandbox — and hear from educators and exhibit developers about what's next for AI learning experiences.

Highlights from previous years

The first annual National AI Literacy Day was held on April 19, 2024. Past summits included speakers from organizations such as IBM, Google, Digital Promise and Microsoft, as well as time to see AI education in action on the exhibition floor of The Tech Interactive. In addition, 1000s of students and educators have visited the museum, taking part in AI educational activities.
