At The Tech Awards 2016 we looked back — and leapt forward.
Thank you to our seven returning laureates, the sponsors and judges, the performers and guests, and all others who helped make the 16th annual Tech Awards Gala, presented by Applied Materials, a stunning celebration of the program’s history. We honored the first 15 years of Silicon Valley’s most inspiring night, which have included:
- 294 laureates.
- More than $5 million in unrestricted cash prizes.
- 2.6 billion lives improved around the world.
- 11 James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Awards, which have included Bill Gates, Gordon Moore, Al Gore and other luminaries.
The Tech also announced this program’s exciting future: The Tech for Global Good.
The Tech for Global Good will make the inspirational power of The Tech Awards a year-round presence at The Tech. This includes a series of annual exhibits featuring innovations for pressing global problems, educational programs that incorporate social innovation, and new summits and events that celebrate innovation and inspire young people.
