Tech or Treat is back!
Join us for a day of spooky science and family-friendly Halloween fun at The Tech Interactive in downtown San Jose! Tech or Treat is designed for the whole family, with a safe, not-too-scary celebration that’s especially great for little ones experiencing trick-or-treating for the first time. Explore hands-on activities, collect treats, snap festive photos, and discover a few surprises along the way. Come curious and in costume.👻
What is Tech or Treat?
This annual event hosted at The Tech Interactive combines the excitement of trick-or-treating and hands-on science activities, creating a one-of-a-kind Halloween celebration!
- 🎃 Trick-or-treat stations throughout the museum
- 💀 Skeleton Linkages hands-on activity
- 📸 Halloween photo ops and festive decor
- 🧪 Spooky Slime Workshop*
- 👨👩👧👦 Safe, family-friendly fun. This is an excellent first trick-or-treat experience for tiny explorers.
- 👻 Exclusive member workshop: Static Electricity Ghosts
- 🎁 Members also receive a free Domi Halloween sticker and discounts on workshops and laser shows.
- Halloween-themed laser shows in our Dome Theater. Halloween Spooktacular at 4:30 and 5:15 p.m. and NEW! Stranger Things at 6 p.m.*

Trick-or-Treat Stations
Make the museum part of your trick-or-treating rounds this year, and shake some sweet treats or spooky treasures* from our Educators throughout the museum. Costumes welcome; curiosity required.
*Both candy and non-food options will be available. All candy will be nut free.
Costumes Encouraged
Come dressed in your most creative and imaginative costumes. Show off your Halloween spirit!
Spooky STEAM Activities
Create creepy crafts, conduct scientific experiments, and explore the intersection science and Halloween.

Halloween Laser Shows
